Mrs. Rebecca Bradford died at the residence of her son, Capt. W.S. Bradford, in this city, on Monday, the 26th.  The funeral took place on Wednesday at 2 P.M.  The deceased, whose maiden name was Sherman, was born at Newport, Rhode Island, July 6th., 1798, and therefore, was aged 84 years, 7 months and 20 days.  She was a descendant of Philip Sherman, who emigrated to this country from England and with others bought the land Island of Rhode Island.  They were Quakers.  Like her ancestors, she adhered to that persuasion, and was a consistent member of that society almost from infancy.  She came to Mansfield to reside with her son, Walter S. Bradford, in 1864, and her husband died that year.  She had been an invalid during the last two years, but bore her suffering with the greatest patience and fortitude.  She was universally loved, and regarded with the greatest affection and respect by her numerous relatives and friends.  Mrs. Bradford immigrated to Ohio in 1834 and settled in Medina County;  from thence, in 1864, she removed to Mansfield.

A death notice appears later in the same issue of the paper ...
